The Interactive Exhibit Designer is responsible for creating a seamless, delightful visitor experience that tells a strategic story, looks visually-stunning, and meets clients' goals. This position is responsible for setting the artistic vision of real-world, physical experiences, environments, and exhibits. They'll work alongside creative marketing strategists and technologists to develop and pitch creative concepts and then bring them to life. This position is involved from start to finish—ideation through build through on-site activation.
A background in Industrial Design, Architecture, or Interactive Exhibit Design is required, along with a portfolio of best-in-class work.
Required skills include 3D modeling and rendering, visual design, user experience design and design of exhibit layouts and plans.
The Interactive Exhibit Designer is accountable for the responsibilities listed below:
Project Leadership - conduct initial kick-off meeting with client and Deeplocal team members to understand goals, themes, and other storytelling and marketing objectives
Creative - Brainstorm interactive ideas, media, and physical art to communicate a story. Develop and present a visually-driven pitch deck to communicate concepts and look/feel.
Art Direction - Set the vision for the aesthetics of the experience. Develop and maintain an ongoing deck with design assets, sketches, 3D renderings, mood boards, styles of illustration, interactive inspiration, etc. that expresses the visual approach to the exhibit/installation
Visual Asset Creation with 3D Modeling - Create 3D models, renderings and other necessary visual assets for the exhibit using tools such as Sketchup, Rhino, Max, and Cinema 4d. Generative modeling experience a plus.
Visitor Experience - Develop the visitor experience and produce diagrams and drawings that communicate design intent and describe how the exhibit is organized in the space (its shape, dimensions, materials, and general construction)
Exhibit Layout - Create a floorplan with accurate footprint of exhibit areas
Materials and Finish Selection - Select appropriate materials and finishes for physical experiences
Client Service - Ensure that client requests and feedback are being heard and respectfully addressed throughout the duration of the project
